Remember Jennifer's beautiful birthday cake? (See August 4th post.) A few days later, the kids good friend Brianna celebrated *her* birthday, and her mom ordered another one of those bakery cakes. We all stood around the table just staring in amazement at the decorated frosting. I started telling Jenn she could probably decorate a cake just as well with some practice. Next thing, typical me, I was really sold on the idea, and was going on an on about her being so artistic and how much fun it would be for her and how much we all love cake. "Oh yeah, you should definately try to learn that." That very night, Jenn gets a phone call from a friend she hasn't seen in a while - who's calling to invite her to a cake decorating party put on by a husband and wife team of professional bakers.

Jenn had a blast at the cake decorating party. All cake, frosting and tools were provided. Everybody got to decorate their own top layer. This is Jenn's first try at "real" cake decorating. Sweet! (PS: The only things Jenn did not make are the blue flowers.)

This is the now the view accross the street. To think that when we bought the house, there was a dead end right where that phone pole is, and nothing but woods... Pretty much everywhere in this picture was woods.
